Indy 500 – Podcast Booths
The “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” takes place every year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. From a crowded media center there, casters from all different networks and channels report on the Indy 500 and the events around it. Of course, the 2020 Indy 500 wasn’t quite as tightly packed as the years before, but the casters – more than ever – needed isolated areas they could record from in privacy, quiet, and safety.
To do this, we recommended our prototype flexible VERSA Cast podcast booth. Lined with acoustic foam and featuring built-in power and networking outlets, it was the best fit for their needs. We worked with the client to customize the booths to their liking, down to the checkered flag air vents cut into the ceilings. Bold flag graphics on the side and a dimensional logo tied the look together. The modular nature of the VERSA Cast booths allowed them to be easily brought on-site and assembled in whatever configuration was needed to fit the changing needs of the Indy 500 media center.
This was the premier application of our new VERSA Cast product, and it happened to come in March just the pandemic hit the States in 2020. We had to make adjustments to the design and structure quickly, adapting to newly emerging social distancing protocols. The end result not only exceeded the client’s expectations, but also gave us ideas for other improvements to incorporate features into our newest VERSA brand.
